Question:
I'm thinking of going to Mexico for a Lap Band over my RNY....

No, the RNY didn't fail. I lost weight but I need to lose much more & I cannot afford to pay for a revision here. In fact, I'm not too sure if I really want a complete revision. I'm very interested in the Lap Band but I want it done in Mexico because A) It's cheaper than here in the US & B) The Dr's there have more experience than our US Dr's do. I would like to know if anyone else out there has had the Lap done over an RNY. Also would like to know if you did it in Mexico (even if it wasn't a revision), who did it, for how much & would you recommend him/her????    — Ms S. (posted on October 29, 2002)

Hi Sharon, I had my RNY Lap distal in Mexico on the 20th of September. I went to Monterray, Mexico. I had a very good experience and actually the city was beautiful. I would do it again, I thought the nurses were all very nice and attentive and I thought the MD was extremely attentive and he assigned me a person who speaks English very well and she picked me up at the airport and visited me and if I would have asked taken me to places. I am a RN so I am particular and critical. My doctor was Dr. De La Garza Leal. Let me know if I can help you further, also he does the lap band.
