Question:
What's the difference?
I am 10 months out, have lost approx. 120 lbs., gone from size 24 to 10, all is wonderful. Am about 15 - 20 lbs. from goal. However, I do have a question about the loose skin thing. I work out regularly, do weights plus cardio, and have fairly good muscle tone...but some of it's buried under what I can only call "flab". It's not fat the way I knew fat when I was MO; and I don't think it's loose skin, which I imagine being much thinner and more droopy than this. It's just...well, flab! I do plan to continue my weight loss to goal, and to continue exercising and doing weights etc. -- I feel very healthy now, and am smaller than I have ever been as an adult -- but will this "flab" go away? Or is it really just the infamous and dreaded loose skin thing that everyone talks about? I can live with it one way or the other, but am curious to know what others think, and what more experienced post-ops have done about this problem. Thanks! — Karen I. (posted on July 10, 2002)

It's the dreaded FLAB. Not much you can do about it except have it
surgically removed. The skin only has so much elasicity in it and after
being stretched out for years, it just doesn't go back. :(

Me, too :-( However, my surgeon told me to give it 2-3 years & I will
"grow back into my skin."
