Question:
I am overly anxious to get a surgery date!

The insurance rep. from the hospital (BTC - Belvidere)called me this morning to tell me that they are faxing my approval paperwork to the doctor's office today. Of course noone can say for sure how long it will be before I actually have the surgery, but can anyone give me an "estimated" time of how long it took for them from this point until their surgery day? I know I am impatient, but I am also dealing with some health problems from the weight, which is making things worse. Thanks!    — [Anonymous] (posted on January 4, 2002)

I don't have your insurance but I can tell you that where I live (Portland OR) and with my surgeon, the estimated waiting time from the okay from insurance to the actualy surgery date can be easily 12 weeks! That may seem like forever but you've waited this long, three more months will only give you more time to work on exercising and protein intake!!!!! Good luck!
