Question:
When do you stop losing weight?
I am 18 months post op, reached my goal after only 10 months and I am still losing weight. I am down to almost 100 pounds now and I am getting worried. — Lori S. (posted on July 20, 2001)

I'm 18 months post-op also and just now have stopped loosing weight I have
leveled off at 10 pounds below my goal weight ... I increased my calories
so that I won't lose any more weight and that has seemed to work out
just fine.. 19-24 months is the usual window of opportunity for weight
loss

I got a little freaked out buy this also. I contacted another member of
this site who explained to me what her maintance diet is like and I am
trying to alter mine also. It isn't easy when we eat so little. But she
told me to (basically) quit eating "diet" foods and eat the good
stuff , it will increase our calorie intake. I don't eat surgar but I do
snack on sugar free cookies , they are pretty high in calories. Also a pat
of butter here and there adds up. Inspite of this some weeks i will lose ,
I am 143lbs my goal was 145. I'll wait until the 31st of july and ask my
doctor about this at the next visit. She thought I would stop at 155. Maybe
I am supposed to be thin!
