Question:
Silly question... How small are the bites supposed to be... as small as for a baby?
I have a toddler at home. Is the size of bite I give her the size of bite I should give me? Sorry so silly but I couldn't find it in the library. Thanks, Annie — Annie R. (posted on June 13, 2001)

Had to add my two cents to this one, even though I am pre-op! I was told
by my surgeon that when I began to eat meat (when it was allowed in my diet
post-op) I was to begin eating pieces no larger than a pencil eraser on the
end of a pencil. And even when they were that small, I was to only eat two
or three at a time until I found out if I could tolerate meat. I don't
have an answer for all other foods. I just thought it was interesting when
he told me that. I came home and looked at my steak for supper that night
in a different light! Hope that helps!

I also have a toddler and that is exactly what I do. I eat the same size
bite as he does and also if I dont have on my watch I time myself between
bites by watching when he takes another bite. I use his spoons and forks
and his plates that did get him jealous at first now he thinks it is neat
that we both eat off of Blues Clues plates.
