Question:
I have trouble getting out of a recliner post op at 565 #.

I didn't have a high BMI 41 but it was difficult to push back and
get up out of the recliner..and I have a friend male who is weighing
500+ and he says it is hard that he has to have help..
Look into renting a hospital bed or look in the furniture for sale
or misc for sale in your local paper...I own a residential care home
for the elderly and i find my electric beds inexpensively that way
one shouldn't cost you over $250 and that is more then likely what
you would pay to rent one...call the business that supplies home care
needs to check and see what the price will be..
I wouldn't say how much you weighed because they might say your to heavy
for that
bed and needed a Bariactric bed which I am sure would cost a fortune..
besides trust me you wouldnt break a electric bed..
and tell them you want a 1/2 bed rail to help you get your self up and out
of bed
good luck ..you will do fine

I would like to share that I weighed 349 at surgery day and because of my
knee's, back, and ankel pain I could hardly get up off the couch pre-op
anyways I had to do alot of scooting and twisting and holding on to the
table for support so when I came home I couldnt hardly get out of the
recliner either lucky for me Sam had a cane that he let me use and it was
very helpful. I used it even to walk around the house and go to the
bathroom and once I laid down to help push me back up. Now at 2 months and
down 50 lbs I can get up off the couch without alot of efort and pain. and
this is only the begining , I wish you well and sucess. DREAMS DO COME
TRUE FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVES
