Question:
support groups in Lancaster or surrounding areas?
Is there any support groups in Lancaster or surrounding areas? Or would anyone want to start one with me? — Stephanie K. (posted on March 26, 2001)

I attend a support group the 1st Thursday of every month at Reading
Hospital in Reading PA. 7PM. There are about 100 people in attendance,
they usually have a guest speaker, and then different post op people talk
about problems, experiences, etc.., then we break up into groups and talk
about different topics. A lot of the people in attendance are patients of
Dr. William Sweet, but I have met quite a few who have surgery elsewhere,
but attend these support meetings. I have found them to be informative,
with some very caring people in attendance. I am still pre-op, surgery
scheduled for 4-19-01. Good Luck !! If you do decide to attend one, let me
know, we could sit together :)

Hi! Please come to the Surgical Weight Loss Center Support Group. We meet
the first Thursday of every month at Reading Hospital in the Education
rooms (just ask at the front desk...they will point the way). This month
we are having a "Drop your drawers" fashion show. This is where
post-op patients wear their old clothes over their new ones and
"strip" for everyone. It is a total blast! I also am the Angel
Club coordinator so I am at every meeting. There is some great information
to be shared at these meetings. I hope to see you there! luv,......

The Weight Loss Program at Hershey Med Center sponsors a support group the
3rd Wednesday of each month. You don't have to be in their program to
attend. If you want more info feel free to email me.
