Question:
Military - Will Military Medical cover reconstructive surgery?
I am in the midst of a quandry most of you are familiar with. Work insurance just won't pay for the reconstructive surgery that will be necessary to finish the entire WLS process. My fiance is in the military and covered 100% under the VA medical act. Once we marry, I'll be covered under it as well. Unfortunately, no one at the VA is willing to answer this question until AFTER we're married, and that may depend upon whether I can get the surgery covered under them or not (If yes, then it would be MUCH sooner than we'd planned). So, if anyone is able to provide me with the answer to this, I'd be greatly appreciative. Again, my question is: Will the VA Medical coverage cover a spouse getting reconstructive surgery (ie panny/TT). ~Molly Southard Pre-Op:376 Current: 250 Surgery: 12/19/99 Dr. Donald McConnell, OHSU, Portland, OR. — Molly S. Molly,
I am a civil service employee at NAS Meridian, MS. I know of several
military spouses who had gastric bypass and Tricare approved and paid for
it. They also had great success getting them to pay for the Tummy tuck and
thigh lift down the road. Your chances are better than most with the
military insurance. Email me if you would like a contact here to talk with
about it.
