Question:
Know anything about Dr. Alexander in Dallas?
Has anyone used Dr. John Alexander in Dallas? Just found out that he is on our provider list and need to know about his reputation. Thanks- — Martha C. (posted on October 27, 1999)

I've just been to see Dr. Alexander today and he was wonderful! He's the
first doctor that I've been to that didn't make me feel like a freak. He
was really super and so nice! Unfortunately, my insurance company sucks big
time and the only way I can get the surgery is to change insurance
companies. I'm quite sure that the company I work for isn't going to change
insurance companies just for me. But Dr. Aleaxander was very helpful and
had some suggestions for me. He will be seeing my sister on Thursday.

05/30/00 UPDATE: My sister went to see Dr. Alexander on May 19, 2000 and he
told her he could do the surgery in the month of June and that he could
also remove the apron part of her stomach for her. She came home very
excited and had another appointment with him on May 28, 2000. When she went
this time he started telling her he couldn't schedule her testing until
late June, blah, blah, blah. What it amounted to was that she probably
wouldn't get the surgery until August AND he then stated that he does NOT
remove the apron part of her stomach. she came home very depressed and
upset. We were both confused at the turn around he seemed to have done. We
don't understand WHY tell her (and myself) one thing one time and then do a
complete reversal on the next visit. Needless to say, neither of us will
return to Dr. Alexander. We don't feel comfortable with a doctor who
switches back and forth with his answers to your questions. We feel that
trust in the doctor is one of the most important things a person should
have and there is a lack of that here.
