Question:
What to expext at first consult?
I have my first consult scheduled September 3rd with Dr. Reinhold in New Haven CT. Can anyone please tell me what to expect at this consult? And if anyone has any info on Dr. Reinhold, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advanced. — Melody B. (posted on June 30, 1999)

My surgeon actually sent me out a packet of information prior
to my first consult that told me all about the procedure
they perform, and answered 90% of the questions I had
painstakenly written out for him. He was with me for about
45 minutes explaining the procedure, said yes you seem to be
a candidate and sent me off to schedule the surgery. That
was that. I guess I wanted more bells and whistles but to him
this stuff was routine.

I have a list of questions you might want to ask him. Email me if you want
this little starter list. Then add a couple million of your own!

Melody, I am also seeing Dr. Reinhold and had my 1st visit in May. You will
be weighed, have a physical exam, and he will review the diet and medical
information you've submitted on his office questionairre. He will then sit
down with you and family member to discuss your BMI, what the surgery
entails, and the next steps need prior to getting insurance authorization
(nutrition and psychotherapy evaluations, attendance at his monthly support
group, etc.) Good luck.
