Question:
How long after you have had wls do you have to stick around for the after visit .
I am having surgery with the Lite Demnsions Program in Fountain Valley,CA and I live quite a distance away and was wondering how long I will have to stay down there? If you can give me a estimate I would realy appreciate it. — Joy S. (posted on July 24, 2005)

Well, from my experience in a completely different practice and in a
completely different part of the country.....From the time I was released
from the hospital I was required to visit with the surgeon at one week from
release and two weeks from release. Then at 3 months, 6 months, and 12
months.

This really is a question you should ask of your
surgeon. Many times patients are released from the hospital with tubes and
such that need to be removed at the one week visit. However, a lot of
times surgeons will allow your PCP to do this if you live far away. Good
luck
