Question:
Is it a plateau? Or am I done losing?
I'm 10 months out. 5' tall, started at 238, now 144. I haven't lost anything in weeks and weeks. And that pesky scale is playing around with 2 pounds, up 2 down 2. My question is this. How do you know if you're just on a nasty plateau, or, am I done losing? Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled with my progress, but wouldn't mind losing a little more because of my height. — lorien (posted on March 12, 2004)

Are you getting exercise in, drinking your water, getting all of your
protein in??? These are things that sometimes we forget as we get farther
out. If you drink alittle more water I am sure you will lose alittle at a
time. Keep up the great work. :) Lisa

Go to www.fitday.com and log in your daily intake. If you are 140 lbs to
maintain your weight you will be intaking 1400 calories. If you want to
lose you reduce the calorie intake. If you want to be 120 you would need
1200 calories to stay at 120. So you dont have to stop. Drinking water
and walking will kick in that nasty plateau.... watching calories will
keep those scales movin with your intake ... blessings..

I had two months like that and then all of a sudden I started losing 1 to 2
lbs. a week again. I am 17 months postop and have lost 149 lbs. so far. I
am still trying to get those last 30 lbs. off, so I was thrilled when the
scale started to move again. You might want to up your exercise a little
like I did. Just hang in there and hopefully the scale will move again.

We're never done if we increase our exercise.

Myra-
I love ya to death, but, thats not exactly true. One can always lose
weight the old fashion way, but, after your 18 mos out, its hard to lose
with the surgery alone.
