Question:
What insurance carriers cover lower body lift or tummy tuck
I am going to be out of school soon and looking for employment and will be choosing my insurance soon. I wanted to know what carriers cover the lower body lift or tummy tuck and what their requirements are. I have no rashes, but I have hanging skin and back pain. — missysworld (posted on January 28, 2004)

Hi Melissa, from what I have learned so far, since I am also starting to
research for a future TT myself, is to see if you can check with the Ins.
coverage and coordinaters? to see that companies policy, for instance UHC
may cover but it's the employers policy they choose to carry on their
employees. Some employers have an exclusion for WLS and/or reconstructive
surgeries. Hope this will help. Patricia 9-30-03 314/228/185?

I don't know which insurance carriers cover this particular type of
surgery, but I do know that all of them require extensive documentation of
medical necessity. So if you haven't already start complaining about that
back pain and visiting your PCP for solutions/help and documentation. Over
at yahoo groups-OSSG, there is a group for plastics. I'd go there and ask
the same question for feedback on which insurance companies did cover their
plastics and what they had to do to get it approved.
