Question:
How many calories at 6 months post-op?
I'm getting in on average 1100 to 1200 per day, just curious as to if this is what you are taking in or am I taking in too many? — Jessica C. (posted on November 2, 2003)

I'll be 7 months out on the 7th and I eat between 1,000-1,200 calories per
day. Barb 4/07/03 235/147/130

The answer to your question is, well, it depends. It depends on how much
weight you have to lose, what your activity level is and how your
metabolism is. If you're still losing, then it's a good number. Weight
loss slows dramatically for most of us after the first six months. So,
given that non-answer I just gave, 1100 to 1200 calories a day is likely
OK. I'm 7 months out, and take in about that much a day. I exercise for 40
minutes almost every day, either in a circuit training gym or by walking.
I'm about 40 pounds from goal, and still losing at a rate that I, and my
surgeon, are comfortable with, though definitely slowed. It sounds like
you're doing fine. Best wishes. Lap RNY 4/1/03 290/193/155
