Yes- I am 18 mo post op and I rarly feel "hungry". You need to schedule times to eat right now, and get your water in. this is a very hard time. A couple of bites of soft proteins or proten supplements will fill you up. The resot of the day (except for that 1/2 hour before and 1 hour after) you need to be sipping some liquid beverage- Good Luck and Congratulations

It was normal for me! I had surgery August 15th, and I still do not feel hunger. I'm told that hunger will return at some time. I think it's different for everyone. Some people in my support group said they were hungry almost immediatly. Recently I find myself wanting to eat at night (big time bad habit of mine before), so I try to keep busy then and it passes. But it's still not actual hunger. I eat 3 times a day with 1 snack. I keep track on Fitday.com and spread out my meals. I don't feel deprived or controlled by food right now, and I'm loving it. If it's not bothering you (feeling an emotional loss, etc), I'd say enjoy it and use the time well to stay on track. Good luck!

I am 3 months postop and still have days I am not hungry. Just take it one day at a time and eat as much as you physically can at this point. Protein shakes are always a great asset to your diet. Unjury makes a great tasting one that has 20 grams of protein per serving. Check them out at www.unjury.com. God Bless!

This is perfectly normal! Don't worry. What I found helpful at that time was to measure my intake very carefully in my journal. It was a pain, but worth it. Since you fee no hunger, or much of anything, you need to make sure that you get an adequate amount of food for the day. Eat slowly and pay careful attention to how you feel before during and after eating. Your stomach could care less, so you have to care more! I prayed that I would feel this way for as LONG as possible, but, ALAS, it hungry feeling does return eventually. Good luck to you!

I too don't have any hunger. I'm about 7 weeks post-op and usually have to remind myself to eat because it's gotten to the point that if I don't, I won't eat. The one thing you should watch out for during your first couple of weeks is "head hunger." You're going to be watching tv and see a pizza commercial, or burger king, or anything really, and your head is going to tell you that you want whatever your seeing so bad you could pop. You have remind yourself that it's just your head talking and not your body. Also, what got me through it was the knowledge that, after I had gotten through all of the food stages, if I wanted a bite or two of pizza down the line, I could have it. It made dealing with my mind much easier...sort of a compromise I guess. Good luck.

Your normal. I had NO appetite for 9 weeks. I couldn't (and didn't) eat for most of that time period.
