Question:
When did you have to start working for it...
I'm 9.5 months out, down about 118lbs (today). I want to lose about 45 more. My question is when did the weight stopp coming off and you had to do the work, (DIET--YUCK) or did it just slow down and eventully came off. If you had to DIET, did you cut carbs, if so to how many a day???? I find I crave the carbs and try despreatly to avoid them, but they always get the best of me and I cave. Any suggestions..... — Jeana S. (posted on June 26, 2003)

I'm chuckling at your post. But I hear you... You know you have to help
your tool along but it is "easier" than conventional dieting
isn't it? Well I'd say, I had my surgery 2 years ago today and started
"working it" seriously in October of 2002 so that's what, about 4
months out? By "working it" I mean, seriously committing myself
to exercise. 2 years later and I'm still at goal. I don't watch my food
as closely when I'm working out religiously. It is give and take, on weeks
where working out doesn't fit in (I travel frequently and use the pitiful
excuse that I can't do it everyday), I am more careful with what I ingest.
And vice versa...on days when I go a little off kilter, I make sure I get
in a rigorous workout. Good luck and God Bless!

I found that my weight loss slowed way down at about 10 months out. I
re-commited to following the no simple- "bad carbs" way of
eating. I eliminated all white flour, sugar, white potatoes, corn, from my
diet. I found that when I stopped eating those things, my cravings for them
decreased. I get my carbs only from fruits, veggies, and whole grains. I
don't count carbs. My weight is still slowly comming off and I am eating
the way I plan to for the rest of my life. Take care!

I had to work for my weight loss at month 2. I lost 50 pounds in 2 months
due to having NO appetite and having constant nausea. Then that stopped.
I then had to watch what I ate (eat few carbs and more proteins) and I
exercised 4 to 5 days a week. It took me 7 months to lose 58 pounds which
almost brought me to my goal.

I had to bust my butt after month 6. I was warned that the weight would
slow down but holy cow....it really slowed down. I believe it's almost all
me now. I have to exercise and eat right or no more weight lost!

For me, it was 5 months, but I was in denial about it. It took till about
8 before I realized it's up to me now! And it's not easy!!!!!
