Question:
11 months post-op w/ pain under breast, right rib. Previously had ulcer-not gas pain

I am 11 months post-op and for the past week have a very sharp pain under my breast, near my right rib. It doesn't really feel like trapped gas, god I know how bad that feels as well. I had LAP RNY in May, and in Dec. went to ER and had surgery for a perforation in my stomach and marginal ulcer. Ofcourse I plan to call my doctor, but it's the weekend. Just fearful that something could be wrong again, has anyone had these symptoms? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I checked previous postings, but most play it off to be trapped gas. Gall bladder possibly?? It kinda sounds like when I had gall bladder attacks. Does the pain go around to the right then "campout" in your mid back?

Sounds like probably gallbladder since it is the right side. THe stomach is located closer to the left side and the liver/gallbladder is on the right. Check with your physician, they may want to order an ultrasound of your gallbladder.

Hi Lezlie, I have the SAME THING...I have a gallbladder ultrasound on Wed. to see if I have stones. That's what the doctor thinks it is anyway...go get checked!! :o)
