Question:
I am 13 mos post-op, 30 lbs from goal, suddenly very very tired, why????
Take vitamins everyday, B-12 shot every month, try to drink lots of water. The fatigue is numbing and I don't know why. Haven't felt like this since before I lost my weight! — Jackie Y. (posted on April 3, 2003)

Have you had your thyroid checked recently?

Do you take iron? This is the first sign of anemia.

Jackie, I suggest having your iron checked. I had my 6 month check up last
week and they did blood work. I told my doc I was feeling really really
tired all the time and that I felt light headed too. When they checked my
blood, my iron was low. I've been taking iron pills now (a prescription)
and am starting to feel better. I'm not quite so tired anymore.

I think the big thing here is that you need to go to your PCP and have
blood tests run. I too am 13 months PO but always remember that things can
turn at any time. I have blood tests run every three months to check all
my levels, now maybe that is not necessary for you however you should get
it checked asap. There are many things that could go wacky, that are an
easy fix but can make you sick as a dog. Take care

I am having the same problem, once I hit 30lbs from goal I started feeling
week and I sleep alot. Had all kinds of energy until now. I feel absolutly
drained. Good luck! (6mo. post-op)

I had this also and they found my iron was extremely low. It was worth
going and getting blood drawn and taking more iron so I can have my energy
back. Good Luck!
