First of all, you're doing great. The thing about tastes is pretty common.
I didn't experience the changing taste thing at all, but I have seen lots
of posts from people who have said the same thing. I've also seen some who
said that when they got further out, things started to taste the way did
pre-op.

Nothing tasted right to me until I was about 5 months post op. Even at 10
months some things still don't taste the same. It's normal.

I also have the same thing. I think it's from being in extreme ketosis.
My surgeon's office, U.S. Bariatric, in Ft. Lauderdale, recommends PROTEIN
ONLY until you've lost 75% of your weight. And then they add carbohydrates
very slowly thereafter. The state of ketosis, is when we're burning our
own fat. Everything (including water) tastes very metallic. So, I agree,
nothing tastes very good. But, it's worth it. I've lost 48 lbs. in 8
weeks, and am very pleased. Good luck!

Things usually taste like shi# for around six months. Most of us go through
it. In my case, food smells were just as revolting as taste. It will pass
then you will be sorry.... Honest. Sure wish things tasted bad to me now.
(Almost 23 months post op and 30 pounds from goal).

Everything tasted nasty to me for about the first 2 months...and still
sometimes once in a while something that use to taste wonderful to me just
doesn't appeal to my taste buds anymore, but that's only every now and
then. I think it has to do with all the rapid changes in your body. It
does get better with time and things to taste good again! Hang in there
and good luck to you!
