Question:
Anyone approved by CIGNA-HMO-EPP (Universal Studios Orlando) Out Of Network surgeon

I have Cigna HMO through Universal Studios Orlando and there doesn't seem to be any in network WLS surgeons in my area at all. I chose my own surgeon with my PCP backing me and we are now waiting to see if they will give referral for Dr. Overcash in Ocala (he does however except cigna hmo).. Kinda worried though that they will deny it cause of being out of network for surgeon and the hospital he uses.. I did call Cigna member services to try and get criteria for this and was told only if medically necessary by one person (wouldn't elaborate) and by another that they very rarely cover this type of surgery and only in extreme cases... Well needless to say I was in tears at the end of the call and just been hoping and praying for the best... Anyone who has any helpful information or has had trouble finding surgeon in my same area which is Orlando Network - Clermont Area please respond... Hi Vicki. This may not be helpful info but I live in Palm Bay (south of Melboune) I have CIGNA HMO. I found an in network surgeon in Weston (near Ft. Lauderdale) at the Cleveland Clinic. The clinic is actually in network. My PCP got me an authorization and CIGNA has helped me find a Psych doctor for my evaluation. I had my consultation with the surgeon (Dr. Raul Rosenthal) and so far everything's a go. I told CIGNA my intentions and they didn't give me any negitive feed back. Go to www.mycigna.com to look up the doctors and facilities you are interested in and it will tell you if they are in network.
