Question:
What happens if you can't keep anything down?
I have this problem...See, I am pre-op (Surgical consult schedule March 7th) and any time I eat something that doesn't agree with me (Ie, I end up throwing up...) I can NEVER eat that thing again. I think its psychological, but still...I'm scared that after surgey I'll eat something really good for me and throw up and never be able to eat that thing again...I mean, what happens if I do this for a ton of different things? What the heck will I be able to eat!?????? As it stands this moment...I have a list of stuff I would love to eat, but can no longer...like turkey or chicken lunchmeat...eggs... — Renee B. You have time now to work through your food issues before surgery so you
can begin your journey with a fresh outlook on all foods. Definitely see
somebody about it now, before your required psych evaluation. I'd hate to
see you fail it because of this. Maybe if you get the help you need now,
you'll pass the psych eval when its time for that. P.S. Throwing up
post-op isn't as psychologically scarring as pre-op. You only eat tiny
amounts of food, so you only throw up tiny amounts. Plus there's no
stomach acids and bile taste when you throw up. One, two, three... done!
