Question:
my open incision scar still hurts after 6 weeks and has small blister-type on it.
I recently had emergency surgery to fix a hole in my stomach/marginal ulcer. My gastric bypass was LAP, but this had to be open b/c they needed to exlpore and it was emergency. Anyway, it has been over 6 weeks since and my scar still bothers me. Still can't lie on my tummy. And in the middle of the long scar there is a small little blister, about the size of a pea. It looks like if you poked it with a needle it could pop (which ofcourse i wouldn't do) Has this happened to anyone and is it a problem that I need to see a doctor about? My scar is a bit raised and still very red (although not as raised as my original Lap scars). I am now using mederma on it. ANy suggestions would be very helpful, thanks! — Lezlie Y. Leslie - Yes, I too had this happen to me. I went back to my Surgeon and
he said it was an abscess and he simply drained it and the hole / incision
healed from the inside out at that point. I would encourage you to get
this checked ASAP as you don't want it to get infected anymore than it
already (possibly) is.
