Question:
Surgery open rny 9/3/02 -
Since surgery I have had some type of pain all the time. It's not enough to take medications, just enough to let me know its there. This never happened prior to surgery. It is either, foot pain; Stomach pain (under breast) and across from side to side feels like a burning sensation or pulling, if not there then down lower across belly button area, and today I woke up with tender feeling between breast. This feeling almost feels like I was hit in the chest and it is tender. Has anyone eles felt like there body is going through major chances since this surgery. (I know we are weight wise and emotionaly) but is it typical to have these 'pains'? 5'11" down 50 lbs since 9/3/02 started 308lbs. — Jeana S. (posted on November 25, 2002)

I would suggest you see your doctor immediately. After the intial recovery
from the surgery, most people do not have any pain to speak of.

For the first 3-4 moths I had a variety of aches and pains all over as my
body was adjusting ot the weight loss. I would have pain in my abdomen from
the hanging belly. What helped this was to wear a panty girdle...it held
the loose skin in and I had less hanging, therefore less pain. You may want
to try it. I alos had significant hip pain. IT was my hips going back into
normal alignement. I have no idea what your foot pain is from. Run these
aches and pains by your surgeon, but you are probably fine.

I would check with my doctor just to be safe. However I am about 2 months
post-op & have had the same pain you are describing. My doc said some
people just have it &others do not. While they are working on you
things get re-arranged & mved around.. With some people it takes the
pain more time to go away .. But do check with your doc anyway.. Hope you
feel better soon.
