Question:
could hernia cause weight loss to slow down?
I am not yet at my goal weight and have only lost 6 pounds the past two pounds, bringing me to a grand total of 90 pounds in 6 months. Coincidentally, 2 months ago my surgeon confirmed that I do have a hernia. In the past two months it has grown quite substantially, probably to four or five times the original size. Could it be storing food, slowing down the weight loss? It is always rock hard, and my BMs have become less frequent recently. — jacki R. (posted on June 2, 2002)
