Question:
Girls, after weight loss was your breast lumpy?
After looking in the mirror one morning I noticed a dimple in my breast, and felt a lump, I've been to the doctor, had a mamogram and a untra sound on it,everything came back normal. Has anyone else noticed anything like this from losing weight? — jfoulk4663 (posted on May 28, 2002)

Hey I too found a lump after about 3 months post op. Mine also came back
normal. They think that the lump may have been there before but was under a
layer of fat.

Like the other poster said, this "lumpiness" has always been
there ... it was just hidden with a layer of fat. Now that you are
thinner, you should be faithfully doing your breast self-exams, etc. to
ensure you catch a lump early. If you've already checked this particular
lump out, you're fine. If not, make sure you let your doctor know.

I don't think it is a case of the lump always being there. I have had
terible trouble with my breasts since surgery and my breast specialist says
it is to do with the change of estrogen. He told me to stop all caffeine
and take evening primrose oil to try and get it to settle down. He has told
me to see him in two months and if it hasn't improved he is going to put me
on tamoxifen.
