Question:
What over the counter med. can we take for chest congestion.
I am having trouble with drainage making me ill and chest congestion from allergies or a cold. What over the counter med. could I take till I can see my family Doctor? (open RNY) — Oldsoul (posted on May 20, 2002)

Mary, I've had some trouble with sinusitis, and my doc had me take a
12-hour Sudafed because it is time released, so we can absorb it. I'm sure
there is a 12-hour type OTC for chest congestion--just ask your pharmacist.
Hope you get to feeling better!

From what I understood, as a post op RNY patient, we could not take time
released pills. Our system moves to quickly. Am I wrong here?

I use Drixoral - the cold/sinus formula. It comes in a small, m&m size
green pill.
