Question:
Do insurance companies sell riders for this procedure.

I live in VA, but I belong to Blue Cross and Blue Shield which is a large insurance company and I'm sure they have that in LA. When we recently moved here we talked to an insurance broker and asked that very same question. Luckily they do. Its a MO rider and I think it was like an extra 40 something dollars a month on top of your monthly insurance rate. But I didn't need to add on the rider because it was already included in my insurance. I have Trigon BCBS PPO Keycare 25. I know they also have the rider for individual insurance as well. I suggest calling a broker and talking to them. You don't have to get BCBS but a broker may be able to inform you about other insurances that now cover the surgery or have added MO riders. A lot of laws are being passed about insurance companies covering this necessary surgery. I would just keep checking. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
