Question:
Has anyone used proteinex or cher-amino?

I tried Proteinex about a week ago. I figured that since I hate most
protein shakes..2 tablespoons of something a few times a day couldn't be
all that bad. I figured it would be like taking Niquil...it tastes like
h@ll but the benefits were worth it. Boy was I wrong. I even tried mixing
it with orange juice (it's supposedly orange flavored) but its just not
doable for me. It's a shame it tastes so foul, I was all excited about not
having to drink those horrid shakes.

I got the free sample of Proteinex. It is syrupy and too sweet, but doen;'t
taste too bad to me. I can at the least use it once a day for 15 grams of
protein and if I push myself and stretch it out I can use it twice for 30
grams. I don;t think I could get more of that stuff in without more effort
than I think it is worth. The people at Llorens who make proteinex are
really nice and very quick with sending samples. I would try it out.

I tried Cher-Amino, it was awful! I had it in my mouth only long enough to
get to the sink to throw it and half my supper up! I don't know if you
can, but I'm sure it would be better mixed with juice or something, I just
haven't had the urge to try it again, in any way, shape or form, lol!

Out of curiosity, I ordered the free proteinex sample. It arrived
yesterday. I tried it and I would have to agree that it is just way too
sweet and thick. I have not tried to mix it with anything yet. I was only
able to just taste it and those 2 tablespoons would be impossible for me.

I use Cheramino once/day. 4 T = 30g and it's over. I use whey products
the rest of the day, though. It's nasty, and collagen is the lowest form of
protein supp, but it gets me an extra 30g before I gain consciousness in
the morning, so I do it. I would NOT file it under a "good time",
though!

I do Cheramino and am ordering the Proteinex to compare the taste. The
Cheramino is nasty. Period point blank. But after a week of doing 4T a
day in addition to my whey, I got used to it. No big deal. But then
again, I had a steel stomach pre-op and apparently still have one post as
at 7 1/2 months I have never thrown up and no food has really disagreed
with me. Anyway...if you can tolerate mediciney stuff, Cheramino is cool.
But if you can't don't waste your time. Especially when you can make a
really tasty shake. The Cheramino works well for me if I want to get my
protein in without feeling too full or when I don't feel like making a
shake. Good luck and God Bless!

Tried Cher-Amino adn couldn't even swallow it! It was soooo nasty! Don't
waste your money or time. I tried Challenge Wild Cherry Flavor pre-digested
protein and mix 3 TBSP. with about 30 oz. of water and a sweet n'low and
it's like koolaid. I also got the proteinex. I mix it with water and it
takes care of the thickness and sweetness. Also with that you get to count
it toward your water intake for the day. Happy losing ;)

I have tried Both and the Proteinex is by far the Best. I just drank it
down and then did a water chaser. Not bad at all. I can't do the shakes
at all. Gives me the runs too bad. Must be lactose intollerant. Give it
a try, I think you will like it alot. The Cherr stuff my me vomit. Can't
do it at all. Also you can purchase it at your local Walgreens Pharmacy.
Good luck. Sandy

Just wanted to chime in on the Proteinex. I take it like cough syrup, with
a chaser of water or s/f anything. I have really gotten burned out on the
protein shakes, and was slacking. Hopefully, this will help me to kick
start getting off those last 20 pounds. The taste is, um, not good. Haven't
tried mixing it with anything. I just get it over with. LOL. If anyone
finds something to mix it with that REALLY works , let me know!! Hugs,

I'm 2 weeks post-op and am having trouble with the protein shakes...just
that they are too rich/thick right now. I have started mixing Proteinex
with SF koolade and a teaspoon of splenda and have no problems getting it
down.

I use proteinex and it tastes BAD!! It is also expensive. Yet it is
conveinant. I use a shoot glass (measured 2 tablespoons) and throw it back
with a SF chaser.
Good Luck

I have only tried 2 types of protein drink. The one was so nasty I have
forgotten what it even was. I now am drinking Protoplex Lite from Vitamin
World. It comes in pouches (20to a box) and it has 25 g of protein if mixed
with water (16 oz.)I love the chocalate and just bought some vanilla and I
add strawberries to it and it is real good. It has around 190 calories per
serving. I tried the regular protoplex but it was just to thick. So the
lite works best for me. I tried to mix it with skim milk but it made me
have diarreha (sp). So water works best for me.
