Question:
Does anyone know of a surgeon that performs the laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery?

Dr Rovito of Allentown does LAP RNY. I know many who have had him as their surgeon and I will be seeing him in May.

Amy, I did a little research for you on the "find a doc" page. I know very little about the geography of PA, but I found several surgeons in your state that perform lap WLS. Here are the ones that I found, Luciana DiMarco in Harrisburg, Philip R. Schauer in Pittsburgh, Sayeed Ikramuddin in Pittsburgh, Robert Quinlin in Pittsburgh, and Steven C> Simon in Sayre. Dr Ikromeden left pittsburgh to head up a bariatic surgery department in minnesota. Theres also a dr corcealis in Pittsburgh. Eastern Pa is a LONG way to travel. Ny would be closer.

Hershey Medical Center has an excellent program. I had my Lap surgery done by Dr. Randy Haluck last April. As someone also mentioned, Dr. DeMarco in Harrisburg also does the lap surgery. I have a friend who used him and was very satisfied. I may be a little biased, but I think the program at Hershey is a little more extensive and it has a great support group.
