Question:
Longterm post op's w/o TT: Did your skin bounce back somewhat after u stopped losing?
Just curious about this. I have lost my weight really fast, (90#s less than 6mon..35#'s to go) and have a bunch of skin in assorted areas. I am 27 but have massive stretch marks ALL over. I won't be able to have a TT or my arms or legs or breasts done. That said.. did anyone's skin bounce back somewhat in the years after you stopped loosing the weight? Basically, is there hope longterm to look a little decent naked? (pretty vain I know) I would like to hear your stories. Thanks — [Anonymous] (posted on February 2, 2002)

You are not vain. We all wanna look good naked. I can honestly say that my
skin did improve a lot over time. I am 3 years post. After the 2nd year I
noticed a big difference in my skin. Everything tightened up. I thought it
was hopeless. I do not look great naked but I don't look horrible like I
did at first. I am 31 and have not had any kids yet. I am trying to hold
off on any plastic surgery untill after I have kids. It is so expensive and
I don't wanna ruin it after I fork out the dough. I just hope a tummy tuck
will get rid of the stretch marks...yikes. They are the thing I hate the
most, my tummy doesn't sag enough to qualify as an apron. My boobs look
pretty good and they didn't at first. So hang in there, excuse the punn.

I am thinking that I can't look any worse naked and thin than I did naked
and FAT, right?

I saw a plastic surgeon after I hit my goal. He told me to wait another
year because he thought my skin would shrink more . I guess they can tell
how certain people are going to respond. He was right , I did not need a
tummy tuck , my stomach is not totally flat . But enough so that with
clothes on people often comment about how lucky I am to have a flat
stomach! and I am 52 yrs young.
