Question:
HELP! Did I create a small staple line separation? I have noises come from old stoma
Two days ago, I ate until I was full. (Some were baked fries). But about 10 minutes later, I had intense pressure from my pouch so I stuck my finger down my throat and brought it up. It was hard to do that, I had to heave and heave, and it took hours for me to throw it all up. My pouch was achey. So the rest of the night I just had water to give it a rest. But now, all day yesterday and so far today, when I burp, it is like I have a rock in the pit of my pouch. (it is still irritated). BUT also, I have what sounds and feels like digestion noises from my old stomach. I don't think I am transected either. (I had a Proximal RNY). Is this normal to have after the episode I had with throwing up? Or should I run to see my doc? I don't have pain at all associated with this, even when burping. Just that rock feeling. Thank you. — [Anonymous] (posted on December 5, 2001)

I ate something I shouldn't have and I had the "rock" feeling in
my stomach for days. Unless you have pain, I wouldn't be too worried.
But, maybe you could call your dr. and tell him/her what you told us and
see if he's worried.

I would go on liquids for a day or so to give your pouch a chance to heal
and DONT overeat and cause yourself to throw up EVER again. This can lead
to it becoming a habit. I would try to relax and give yourself time. I too
got that rock hard feeling and didnt overeat. I ate a whole large clove of
garlic and it came back up and left me feeling wierd. Lasted a day or so. I
NOW only eat smaller quanties of raw garlic....
