Question:
Will wls prevent me from being a living organ donor?
I am a match for a relative requiring a kidney transplant. After having Wls, will this prevent me from being a kidney donor? The nephrectomy is done by going through the side of the stomach and through all the abdominal muscles and tissues.. Has anyone been a donor since surgery? Please let me know.. Thanks. — Danette H. No, as a matter of fact WLS is often performed in preparation for kidney
transplants. This question was asked of dr schauer at our last support
group meeting.
