Question:
I'm having trouble getting my bills paid for.
I have already had my surgery. I had pre approval but not from the insurance provider or something like that. I was wondering if there is a federal or Minnesota agency that would maybe cover the cost? Does anybody know where I could look to check this out? — Carla C. (posted on October 23, 2001)

Hi, Medicaid will back pay up to 3 months in Alabama and in Florida so
probably there to. If that does not help contact vocational rehab for your
state and see what they say!
you can also obtain free lawyer service to see if you can make your insurer
pay! If you would like to email me I do have some info on free attorneys!
Good Luck

I'm a little confused. If the insurer didn't approve the surgery,
then who did????? I'm assuming the bill is from the hospital and
that your surgeon did get authorization for the surgery. The
hospital billing/collection staff should work this out with the
surgeon's office. This type of auth problem happens all the time
and the two offices should be able to resolve it.
