Question:
Emma Pattserson's Patients: Please Read!
Hi, I'm getting approval to see Dr. Patterson and was wondering if any of her patients could tell me about her. I'm just wanting to know if she is a good caring surgeon, what experiences both positive and negative that were had with her or her office. I'd also like to know if anyone has an idea as to her schedule. Thanks — Jenifer S. (posted on June 3, 2001)

Hi: Dr. Patterson is known to me as she was a fellow last year for my lap
surgeon, Michele Gagner (feature this week in New York Magazine's Best
Doctors in New York issue). She was liked by everyone and said to have an
excellent bedside manner. If she was trained by Dr. Gagner, you can't ask
for more (unless you came to NY to the great man himself -- that's what we
jokingly call him). If you ask the same question on the list at
www.duodenalswitch.com, you should get more feedback from preops and
earlier postops.

I like Dr. Patterson a great deal. I have seen her twice.. surgery denied
by insurance still appealing. The only thing that bothers me is the long
waits with calls back from the clinic. I know they are very busy so just
be patient.

Sorry I did not care for her at all. I also have 3 friends that said she
was rude, difficult and got very upset if you dared questioned her about
why she makes you jump through all these Hoops when most doctors dont. I
also had a friend who had surgery somewhere else & asked her to take
the stiches out and she yelled at her the whole time and wanted to know how
much she paid. When she told her $7500 compared to her $15,500 she really
got mad. Charged her $300 to remove the stiches. Good luck to you
