Question:
Liquid diet in and out of the hospital

I was confused. I will be on a liquid diet for a couple of weeks. I was told, while I was in the hospital. I could drink grape, apple and cranberry juice 1 once every 15/30 minutes. I thought drinking juices had too much sugar? Is this true. I would like to know what you drank while in the hospital and at home. I would like to know, what your diet was like for the first month. Could someone email me what their diet plan was like for the first 30 days. I was also told my goal for protein is 60 grams, is that too much? EMAIL: [email protected] I only have one more day on the PC so please send your responses before 5/22/01 3pm. My angel is: Rosylnd Woodfin from WA    — L M. (posted on May 21, 2001)

60 Grams sounds just right. They gave me Gatorade in the hospital and I agree... Way too much sugar as far as I was concerned but the doctor said it was good for me. Juices had to be cut with water. During the first 3 weeks I ate anything pureed and soft... mostly soups and everything in my handy Chopper (I loved that thing) I also ate a soft meatloaf one night.
