I noticed some hair loss between 10-12 weeks then I pumped up my protein
internal amount and it has slowed down a lot. I also treat my hair to
regular protein replacement therapies Like Vitamin/Protein Reconstructor
by Fantasia and TRESemme Deep Protein treatment. Every time I wash my
hair I take the time to give my hair a treat..

I lost more than 1/2 of my hair. I had thick hair and now its on the thin
side. I has pretty much stopped now at 11 months post-op. The worst was
from 7 to 10 months post op.

i started losing hair a few months after surgery, and stopped losing hair
about 9 months later. When I was on a liquid diet years ago, the same
thing happened, only I lost more hair. For me, taking a biotin supplement
really helped.

Elizabeth and Dawn - Would you mind telling us how much biotin and zinc you
take, respectively? I'm just over 3 months post-op and already have thin
hair, so I've begun taking both supplements, but want to make sure I take
enough to get the job done. Supposing they'll help at all, but I figure
it's worth a shot. Thanks!

This is a great topic, and I am sooo grateful that people
posting their remedies! At 3.5 months post-op, my hair is
just now starting to come out... ack! Now, I have SUPER thick
hair (practically bush mama hair), but I don't want to lose
a strand if I can help it! So let's see... zinc, biotin (could
someone please post and tell me what biotin is), protein (both
oral and hair packs)... anything else? I think I remember seeing
folic acid somewhere - will the amount in my prenatal
vitamin be enough or should I supplement it? Thanks in advance...
