Question:
Has anyone had any problems with using a spouse's insurance? I have Cigna PPO.

I also have Cigna PPO through my husband's employer. They covered my surgery without any problem. This was my only health insurance. If you have other insurance which is primary, with the Cigna being secondary, you may have to do a little more back-and-forth to get covered. Otherwise, your coverage is just as good as your spouses regardless of who's employer provided the policy.

Hi, I don't have Cigna, but I have insurance coverage through my husband's work. I had no problems with them, and I got my approval letter in less than 2 weeks.

Catherine: I have Cigna PPO through American General, my employer. My request is getting ready to be submitted shortly. Neweigh in Houston has told me that they are reasonably confident that I won't have a problem. However, I would be interested in knowing if you have any difficulty with Cigna PPO or with the approval turn-around time.

Hey Catherine: I had my surgery through Cigna HMO from which I am covered through my husband. I had no difficulties--I just needed approval through my PCP. Good Luck!!
