Question:
Need a Definition. Post-ops and MDs please respond.
I received my official letter from the insurance company. It states that I will be having a "short limb (less than 100 cm) Roux-En-Y". Is this considered proximal or distal? Thanks! — [Deactivated Member] (posted on January 12, 2000)

I believe distal is considered over 150 cm bypassed. I have 200 cm
bypassed. More food but greater malabsorption.

Sounds like proximal to me.
