Question:
How much do you estimate you spend monthly on vitamins and supplementals.
I am on a limited income and would really appreciate an idea of what people are spending a month in vitamin supplements and additional protein drinks. I realize I would be spending less than what I spent on food, but am curious what the cost would be on these supplements. Thank you — susan G. (posted on January 5, 2000)

Hi Susan,
My name is Cheri Hayworth. I live in Tehachapi.
I order my protein Supplement from a Company called:
Puritans Pride-1/800-645-1030 or www.puritan.com.
their protein powder comes in 2 lb cans and is very smooth
and good. I use the vanilla. The good thing about
them is they have 2 for 1 sales all of the time and
once a year they have a buy 1-get 2 free sale. The protein
is 100% soy protein isolate powder.
Finally the cost is $22.50 for the 30 oz size and that makes
it about $6.00 per pound and that is cheaper than I have
found it anywhere else. There is 25 grams of protein in
each scoop.
I mix 2 scoops in the am with 8 ounces of non fat milk
( soy milk) or apple juice. Then I am done for the whole
day. That means I use 4 pounds per month. And I use wal mart
sugar free childrens chewable with iron- multiple vitamins.
Two per day I think they were about $6.50 for 100 of them.
So My supplements cost about $30.00 per month.
I am on SSI so I understand the limited income.
And this was the cheapest way I have found so far.
My food is now less than $50.00
per month. Hope this help a little.
Sorry I ramble so much. LOL.
Cheri
