Question:
What about Failed Tubal Ligations Following WLS
I had a VBG 15 years ago as a teenager. Although the procedure failed after 2 1/2 years, I had no trouble getting pregnant after my husband and I started trying. Unfortunately, I gained another 85 pounds with my pregnancies after regaining all the weight lost with the first procedure (130 lbs). The day I delivered our 2nd child as I was returning to my room, there was a specil on tv about failed tubal ligations, one of the greatest reasons for failure being rapid weight loss. Has anyone experienced this? Is this a valid concern for me? MDs and WLS patients please respond. Thanks. — [Deactivated Member] (posted on December 29, 1999)

I am curious about this, but I don't understand. How could losing weight
cause a failure of a tubal ligation? I think they cut the falopian tubes,
fold each of the cut ends over, and tie them in place so they don't
re-connect. I know women tend to be more fertile after they lose weight,
but once you've had your tubes tied how could you get pregnant?
