Has anyone been approved by Wal-Mart insurance? bc/bs of tn

Hi, I am not really experienced in this, but I was talking to my insurance lady at my surgeons office on Friday and she was telling me that they have a patient who is an employee of Walmart in Florida, and she said that Walmart WILL NOT cover the procedure. This is thru BC/BS of Florida. Walmart has in its policy that they will not cover gastric bypass. I also was told that this patient is trying to fight this with an attorney.

my name is Lana Reed i work for wal-mart and i had my surgery 9/11/01 and i had the hmo ins and they payed 100% i worked at store 4 in arkansas. you must get a letter of referal from your family doctor in order for the insurance company to pay for it or they will not. your doctor must let them know that obesity is a health risk to you. my sugery has went well i weighed 300lbs and now i weigh 120lbs. I also had a TT done and they payed for it 100% also. so dont give up keep trying. Lana Reed
