Question:
BC/BS of IL (PPO) has said that there is no deadline for an appeal.

There is alot of talk about having only so much time for an appeal, but BC has told me twice that there is no deadline for appeal in a pre-determination of benefits case. Would you believe them?    — Mary P. (posted on September 28, 1999)

Why wait to appeal at all ... appeal immediately. But if you want to find out what the appeal deadline is ... read your insurance policy, it's usually at the end of the exclusions, or in an area discussing the insured's rights & responsibilities. If all else fails, contact the insurance commissioner for your state and tell them the type and name of your policy, and they can likely tell you what the restrictions are.
