I HAVE A BELLY BUTTON RING AND HAD TO TAKE IT OUT BEFORE SURGERY. I WAS AFRAID THAT MY HOLE WOULD CLOSE UP. I ASKED THE DOCTOR BEFORE I LEFT THE HOSPITAL WHEN I COULD PUT IT BACK IN AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT MINE BACK IN BEFORE I LEFT THE HOSPITAL, WHICH WAS A COUPLE OF DAYS.

if they want you to take them out, do what i did. take some dental floss and thread it through the holes, tie a good knot--that will keep them open, but get them out of the way. good luck!

Most of the time taking out jewelry, etc is just for the surgical procedure. I have a friend with a tongue ring who had surgery. Her hubby was able to put it back in for her as soon as she came out of surgery. (Tongues close up fast...within a couple hours.) Ask your surgeon and your anesthesiologist for sure.

This will depend on the procedures of the hospital and your surgeon. I was not able to wear jewelry at the hospital I was at as long as I was connected to any external medical device such as a catheter, IV, NG tube, etc. Each hospital may have a different policy on this.

I don't want to seem critical, and I'm sure your piercings are lovely. However, I'd suggest that you take them out and keep them out! Pretty soon you'll have a lovely figure and you won't need to have any piercings to call attention to yourself!

Check with your Dr. I was worried about losing my tongue piercing when going in for my c-section. It may be that the issue is the metal. I was able to use a lucite stud/spacer with a rubber washer. Much Luck
