Look in your Medicare handbook for providers in the network, or call the 1
800 number for Medicare and ask them for a list of surgeons in your area.

I am not from your area however I am on Medicare. Most surgeons will take
medicare however they are reluctant because it does not require
preautherization to have the surgery. You can most likely find a surgeon if
he is attached to a hospital that takes medicare. Medicare will only cover
what they consider resonable charges and they only pay a persentage of
that. If you have a secondary insurance it may be best to go to them for
your name of a surgeon. You will have to pay the difference after medicare
has paid otherwise. Since medicare does not list what they will pay for
the surgery most doctors will ask for a portion of the bill up front. Keep
your chin up its not easy to find surgeons these days especially with the
price of malpractice insurance.

Hi there! I don't know if she accepts Medicare, but I had my surgery with
Pamela Foster & she was amazing!! I had surgery at Stanford, but now
she is in practice with other doctors in Burlingame. Her website is
www.thinnerfuture.com I know she is listed in the surgeon data base on
obesithelp.com & it lists what insurance she accepts, but for some
reason my comp won't let me access it. She truly was a great surgeon. I
was a light weight, but I did lose over 100 pounds & have kept it off
(I had my surgery 3 years ago). I have not been back to see her in over a
year because we moved to Illinois, but I can say with much confidence she
is great! Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Sincerely,
Elizabeth ([email protected])
