I had surgery on 2/11/05. We have Tricare Prime and they covered
everything, I just have to pay some small co-pays. I don't think I've
spent more than $100. I was approved in 1 week. Make sure you get a
referal from your PCM and that the surgeon your seeing accepts Tricare. I
live in PA and my husband is retired navy.

I had my surgery on 3/3/05 and I am covered by Tricare Prime. I had a
revision from a open VBG to Lap RNY. I did not have a problem approving.
I live in Wichita, KS. My husband is Active Duty Air Force... You should
not have any problems if you go thru the progress of getting a referral
with PCM...

Hello Linda,
I had a Lap RNY on 1/18/05 and it was full covered by TRICARE Prime. If you
look at my page it chronicals exactly how long it took from start to
finish. TRICARE truly is a blessing considering the number of insurance
providers that are creating exclusion in the newer policies. Here is the
link to my page. I recently put some before and after pictures on there as
well. I will be 5 months post-op on Saturday.

I have a BMI of 38 with the only other health issue being hypertension. I
was approved through Tricare Prime one day after they received my packet.
My husband is retired Army and we live in Kentucky.
