Question:
Do I have to be at goal weight before BA surgery?
I've lost 1/2 the weight - most in my boobs. Went from 38C (full) to a 36A (a training bra would work!) Do I have to have lost all of my weight BEFORE I get breast augmentation? If I go ahead and go to a size 36D, will I lose more firmness and tissue and wind up with a mess? Or could I do it, go larger than I want and wind up the right size? — Devlyn B. You need to be at a stable weight for sure. Usually a year after a RNY is
about right. Operating on a person still losing a lot can result in more
skin sagging, poor healing because of nutritional problems (your body is
breaking down, not building up during the loss process...catabolism), and
other problems. Your bariatric doc should declare you at a
"stable" weight for sure.

You need to be at a stable weight before you have PS. My boobs look like
tube socks with nipples. Don't worry about it. Wait until you have
reached your goal and have been stable for at least 3 months. In the
meantime keep exercising (don't forget to increase your exercise as you get
smaller). This will help you firm up as much as possible. The firmer you
are before PS the better you are off. Less for the surgeon to take off and
they get a better understanding of your muscle makeup. Easier for them
todetermine what they need to cut off. Good luck with your weight loss!
