Question:
I have new hair growing in but am still loosing a ton!!!
I am sorry to post yet ANOTHER hair question, but I have never seen this particular question. I have new hair growing in and I am VERY thankful, but at the same time my hair loss seems to be about the same as it has been which is way too much. I am 9 months post-op the end of June. Has anyone else had this happen and was there anything that helped? — danagates (posted on June 22, 2004)

I had surgery last September, and lost hair from the end of December until
about the first week of April. I was using Nioxin products, which is
supposed to help stimulate new hair growth. I think it worked, because I
had the same thing happen that you are describing. I was losing a ton of
hair, but at the same time, new hair started coming in. When the hair loss
stopped, I was happy, but my hair still looked thin and a little strange
with the new hair coming in. So just last night, I went to my stylist, and
she colored and cut my hair in a shorter bob style. Now I'll be able to
just use some gel and scrunch my hair as I dry it. It looks much better
than the long hair.
