Question:
What is the best type of incision to have?

I carried most of my weight in my lower body, now I have all this extra skin. I was wondering if any one has input about the different types of thigh lifts? I had one consultation already and the DR. only mentioned the proceedure that consists of the incision at the top inside of the thigh. Thank you in advance for your help.    — Becky F. It depends on your situation. I had an outer thigh lift as part of my LBL, but need an inner one too!

I am the same as Linda, I had an outer thigh lift and lipo as part of my LBL. My saddlebags still look like crap, but, NOTHING like they looked before.

I just had an inner thigh lift 3 weeks ago. I have the incision only around the top of my leg. My thighs look a lot better all ready. The crepiness is gone. It really depends on how much skin you have to have removed. I had 4 inches of skin removed from each thigh. My doctor said that this is a lot and typically most PS's won't remove that much. However, my skin has bounced back from my other plastic surgeries so well, that's why he took a little more skin then normal. It worked out fine. If you truly have a lot of skin on your legs from your thighs to your knees, you would probably need to have the incision strech from the top of your thigh to your knee.

Becky, I have had my PS consult and also have large thighs. My surgeon suggested I have a medial thigh lift (cut knee to groin) due to the amount of skin I have around my knees. He said a lateral thigh lift (groin cut only) wouldn't help that at all. My outer thighs are ok, but the inners are scary and flabby! The incision will extend from my groin to my knee. I will have a large scar but VERY tight thighs. Good luck to you.
