Question:
to everyone with low libido - are you menstruating?
I am 3 yrs post op and stopped menstruating and believe that is the cause for MY low libido so I want to know from others with low libido if you are or are not menstruating — Patti R. (posted on March 24, 2004)

Oh yeah, I menstruate like clockwork and have a very low libido. I lost it
completely after WLS, it came back at about 14 months (never like it was
preop though!) and now it's fading again. UGH!

Yes, I'm as regular as clock-work, like I've always been. Never had any
interruption of periods, and they're still the same number of days apart,
give or take a couple. My libido is very low, unfortunately. I would
gladly trade the periods for my lost libido!

I'm still regular. Low libido is associated w/ perimenopause though.

No...I don't have much of a flow. I've wondered often myself if my low
libido and lack of a period were connected. I took myself off of birth
control pills about 3 months ago (after being on it for years) and I did
get a little bit of a flow. I've never had a heavy period, but over the
last 3-4 years I'd gotten to the point where I've had none at all...my Dr.
feels that it's quite alright. I thought loosing this much weight would
have changed both my lack of a period and lack of a sex drive...but neither
has changed.

I started into menapuse 2 months post WLS...I have now gone 6 months
without a period. I have very low libido. Has anyone tried the new
medication that I saw advertised on TV to help women to regain their
passion?
