I have Aetna PPO insurance and was denied right away b/c I didnt have my
ducks in a row. I was told that I MUST have 6 months of dr supervised diet
(in the last 2 yrs) that includes exercise and nutritional consult which
must be documented in the record throughout. Im appealing but just in case
Ive started a diet/exercise/nutrition program with my doctor. Good luck!!!!

I have Aetna and have fought with them for 2 years. I recently completed
my physician directed diet for 6 months (documented) and was informed that
I also needed to see a nutritionist in conjunction. However, my denial
letter did not mention a nutritionist, only the diet, so they recended the
denial and I was approved.
Go to their website www.aetnal.com and read all the requirements and meet
each one. The insurance lady at my Drs. office said that Aetna is the
hardest to get approval.
